NGC 103
NGC 103 is a spiral galaxy located in the constellation of Phoenix. It is approximately 200 million light-years away from Earth and is part of a larger group of galaxies known as the Phoenix Group. NGC 103 is notable for its bright core and well-defined spiral arms, which are characteristic features of spiral galaxies.
Discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834, NGC 103 has a visual magnitude of about 13.5, making it faint but still observable with moderate telescopes. Its structure and composition provide valuable insights into the formation and evolution of galaxies in the universe.
