NAIC
The NAIC, or National Association of Insurance Commissioners, is a collective organization of state insurance regulators in the United States. Established in 1871, its primary purpose is to coordinate regulatory oversight of the insurance industry, ensuring that companies operate fairly and protect consumers. The NAIC develops model laws and regulations that states can adopt to maintain consistency across the country.
The organization also provides resources and tools for regulators, including data analysis and educational programs. By fostering collaboration among states, the NAIC helps to address emerging issues in the insurance market, such as health insurance, property insurance, and life insurance, promoting a stable and competitive environment.
