Népszabadság
Népszabadság was a prominent Hungarian daily newspaper, founded in 1956. It served as the official publication of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party and played a significant role in disseminating news and information during the socialist era in Hungary. The newspaper was known for its leftist perspective and was widely read until the political changes in the late 20th century.
In 2016, Népszabadság was abruptly shut down, leading to widespread protests and discussions about media freedom in Hungary. The closure raised concerns about the state of journalism and the influence of government policies on the press, highlighting the challenges faced by independent media in the country.
