Multi-Signature
Multi-signature, often referred to as multi-sig, is a security feature used in cryptocurrency transactions that requires multiple private keys to authorize a transaction. This means that instead of a single person having control over the funds, several individuals must agree before any funds can be moved. This setup enhances security and reduces the risk of theft or fraud.
In a typical multi-signature arrangement, a wallet can be configured to require signatures from, for example, three out of five designated users. This is particularly useful for organizations or groups, as it ensures that no single person can unilaterally access or control the funds, promoting accountability and shared responsibility.
