Mt. Fuji
Mt. Fuji is Japan's highest mountain, standing at 3,776 meters (12,389 feet). It is an active stratovolcano located on Honshu Island, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) southwest of Tokyo. Known for its symmetrical cone shape, it is a popular symbol of Japan and is often depicted in art and photography.
The mountain is surrounded by five lakes, known as the Fuji Five Lakes, and is part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Mt. Fuji is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its cultural significance and natural beauty. Climbing the mountain is a popular activity, especially during the official climbing season from July to September.
