Mrs. Margaret G. H. Murdock
Mrs. Margaret G. H. Murdock is an accomplished American astronaut and engineer. She was born on March 19, 1941, in Harrison, New Jersey. Murdock became the second American woman to fly in space when she participated in the STS-9 mission aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1983.
In addition to her spaceflight experience, Murdock has a strong background in aeronautical engineering. She earned a degree from Purdue University and worked for the NASA as a research engineer. Her contributions to space exploration and engineering have made her a notable figure in the field.
