Motor Function
Motor function refers to the ability of the body to perform movements through the coordination of muscles and the nervous system. It involves both voluntary actions, like walking or writing, and involuntary actions, such as reflexes. The brain sends signals through the spinal cord to the muscles, enabling them to contract and produce movement.
There are two main types of motor function: fine motor skills and gross motor skills. Fine motor skills involve small, precise movements, such as using fingers to grasp objects, while gross motor skills involve larger movements, like running or jumping. Both types are essential for daily activities and overall physical development.
