Mother Shipton
Mother Shipton was a 16th-century English prophetess and clairvoyant, born in 1488 in Knaresborough, Yorkshire. She is best known for her prophetic verses, which were said to predict significant events in British history, including the Great Fire of London and the defeat of the Spanish Armada.
Her real name was Ursula Southeil, and she was often depicted as a witch due to her unconventional appearance and mystical abilities. Mother Shipton's legacy continues to influence folklore and popular culture, with her prophecies being published in various collections over the centuries.
