Morrow Point Dam
Morrow Point Dam is a concrete arch dam located on the Gunnison River in Colorado. Completed in 1968, it stands 469 feet tall and creates the Morrow Point Reservoir, which is part of the Aspen Project. The dam plays a crucial role in water storage, flood control, and hydroelectric power generation.
The reservoir behind the dam has a capacity of approximately 126,000 acre-feet. Morrow Point Dam is operated by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and is an essential component of the Colorado River Storage Project. It also provides recreational opportunities, including fishing and boating.
