Moon Pie
A Moon Pie is a popular snack food that consists of two round cookies, typically made from graham cracker, with a marshmallow filling in the center. The entire treat is then coated in a layer of chocolate, vanilla, or other flavored icing. Originating in the southern United States, Moon Pies have been enjoyed since the early 20th century.
Moon Pies are often associated with the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans, where they are thrown from floats during parades. They are also a favorite among outdoor enthusiasts and are commonly found in convenience stores and vending machines across the country.
