Moon Phase
The Moon Phase refers to the appearance of the Moon as seen from Earth, which changes in a regular cycle. This cycle lasts about 29.5 days and includes several distinct phases: New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter, and Waning Crescent. Each phase is determined by the relative positions of the Earth, Moon, and Sun.
As the Moon orbits the Earth, sunlight illuminates different portions of its surface, creating these phases. The New Moon occurs when the Moon is between the Earth and the Sun, making it invisible. Conversely, the Full Moon happens when the Earth is between the Moon and the Sun, allowing the entire face of the Moon to be illuminated.
