Moon Landings
The Moon landings refer to the missions where humans traveled to the Moon and walked on its surface. The most famous of these missions was Apollo 11, which took place in July 1969. Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to set foot on the Moon, while Michael Collins orbited above in the command module.
These missions were part of the NASA program aimed at exploring space and demonstrating technological advancements. A total of six crewed missions landed on the Moon between 1969 and 1972, collecting samples and conducting experiments that expanded our understanding of lunar geology.
