Montana District Courts
The Montana District Courts are the trial courts of general jurisdiction in the state of Montana. They handle a wide range of cases, including civil, criminal, family, and probate matters. Each of the 22 judicial districts in Montana has at least one district court, and judges are elected to serve six-year terms.
District courts also have the authority to hear appeals from lower courts and administrative agencies. They play a crucial role in the state's judicial system, ensuring that legal disputes are resolved fairly and efficiently. The decisions made in these courts can significantly impact individuals and communities throughout Montana.
