Mohr Circle
The Mohr Circle is a graphical representation used in engineering and materials science to analyze stress and strain in two-dimensional systems. It helps visualize the relationship between normal and shear stresses acting on different planes within a material, making it easier to determine principal stresses and maximum shear stress.
To construct the Mohr Circle, one plots the normal stress on the x-axis and the shear stress on the y-axis. The circle's center represents the average normal stress, while its radius indicates the maximum shear stress. This tool simplifies complex stress analysis, aiding engineers in designing safer structures.
