Modest Mussorgsky
Modest Mussorgsky was a Russian composer born on March 21, 1839. He is best known for his innovative approach to music, which often incorporated elements of Russian folk themes and national identity. Mussorgsky was a member of the group known as the Mighty Handful, which aimed to create a distinctly Russian style of classical music.
His most famous works include the piano suite Pictures at an Exhibition and the opera Boris Godunov. Mussorgsky's music is characterized by its vivid imagery and emotional depth, making him a significant figure in the development of Russian classical music. He passed away on March 28, 1881.
