Modern Greek Language
The Modern Greek language is the official language of Greece and Cyprus, spoken by millions of people. It has evolved from Ancient Greek, which dates back to around the 9th century BC. Modern Greek retains many features of its ancient predecessor but has also undergone significant changes in grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation over the centuries.
Modern Greek uses the Greek alphabet, which consists of 24 letters. The language is known for its rich literature and cultural heritage, with notable works from authors like Nikos Kazantzakis and George Seferis. Today, it is an important part of Greek identity and is taught in schools and universities worldwide.
