Moai heykelleri
Moai heykelleri are large stone statues located on Paskalya Adası, a remote island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean. These iconic figures were created by the Rapa Nui people between 1400 and 1650 CE. The statues are made from volcanic tuff and can weigh several tons, with some reaching heights of over 30 feet.
The Moai are believed to represent ancestral figures and were placed on stone platforms called ahu. They served as a symbol of power and status within the Rapa Nui society. Today, the Moai heykelleri are a UNESCO World Heritage site, attracting visitors from around the world.
