Mississippi State Legislature
The Mississippi State Legislature is the legislative body of the state of Mississippi. It is a bicameral institution, meaning it has two separate chambers: the Mississippi House of Representatives and the Mississippi Senate. The legislature is responsible for making state laws, approving the state budget, and addressing various issues affecting Mississippi residents.
The Mississippi House consists of 122 members, while the Senate has 52 members. Both chambers meet annually at the Mississippi State Capitol in Jackson, the state capital. Legislators are elected by the citizens of Mississippi and serve terms that allow them to represent their constituents' interests in the state government.
