Missisquoi Bay
Missisquoi Bay is a large, shallow bay located in Lake Champlain, straddling the border between Vermont in the United States and Quebec in Canada. It covers an area of approximately 20 square miles and is known for its rich biodiversity, including various fish species and bird populations. The bay is a popular destination for recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and birdwatching.
The bay is also significant for its historical and cultural importance. It has been a site for Indigenous peoples for thousands of years and played a role in early European exploration. Today, Missisquoi Bay is part of the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge, which aims to protect its unique ecosystems and wildlife habitats.
