Minor Threat
Minor Threat was an influential American hardcore punk band formed in 1980 in Washington, D.C. The band consisted of vocalist Ian MacKaye, guitarist Lyle Preslar, bassist Jeff Nelson, and drummer Brian Baker. They are known for their fast-paced music and straightforward lyrics that often addressed themes of youth culture, personal integrity, and the straight edge lifestyle.
The band's self-titled EP, released in 1981, is considered a cornerstone of the hardcore punk genre. Minor Threat disbanded in 1983 after releasing several albums and singles, but their impact on punk music and culture continues to resonate, inspiring countless bands and movements in the years that followed.
