The Minoan language refers to the ancient language spoken by the Minoan civilization, which thrived on the island of Crete from approximately 2600 to 1100 BCE. This language is primarily known from inscriptions found on clay tablets and other artifacts, written in two scripts: Linear A and Cretan Hieroglyphs.
Despite extensive research, the Minoan language remains largely undeciphered, making it difficult to understand the culture and society of the Minoans. Scholars believe it may have been a precursor to later languages in the region, but its exact relationship to other ancient languages is still uncertain.
