Minneapolis Skyway System
The Minneapolis Skyway System is a network of enclosed pedestrian walkways that connect various buildings in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. Spanning over 9 miles, it allows people to move between offices, shops, and restaurants without having to go outside, making it especially useful during the cold winter months.
The system consists of more than 80 skyways, linking over 50 city blocks. It was first developed in the 1960s and has since become an essential part of the urban landscape, promoting foot traffic and enhancing accessibility in the downtown area.
