Mingi
Mingi is a term used in some African cultures, particularly among the Omo Valley tribes in Ethiopia. It refers to a child who is considered cursed or unclean due to certain physical traits or circumstances, such as being born with teeth or having a twin. These children are often abandoned or killed because they are believed to bring misfortune to their families and communities.
The practice of labeling children as mingi is rooted in traditional beliefs and superstitions. Efforts by various organizations aim to raise awareness and protect these children, promoting the idea that all lives are valuable and deserving of care, regardless of cultural beliefs.
