Mind Reading
Mind reading, often referred to as telepathy, is the hypothetical ability to perceive another person's thoughts or feelings without using the traditional senses. This concept is popular in science fiction and paranormal discussions, but there is no scientific evidence supporting its existence.
In psychology, the term can also refer to a cognitive bias where individuals assume they know what others are thinking, leading to misunderstandings in communication. This can affect relationships and social interactions, as people may misinterpret intentions or emotions based on their assumptions rather than actual dialogue.
