Mimicry
Mimicry is a biological phenomenon where one organism resembles another to gain an advantage, such as protection from predators. This resemblance can be visual, auditory, or behavioral. For example, some butterflies mimic the appearance of toxic species to avoid being eaten, as predators learn to associate bright colors with danger.
There are different types of mimicry, including Batesian mimicry, where a harmless species imitates a harmful one, and Müllerian mimicry, where two harmful species evolve to look similar. This adaptation helps both types of organisms survive in their environments by reducing the likelihood of predation.
