Miles Coverdale
Miles Coverdale was an English theologian and biblical scholar, best known for his translation of the Bible into English. Born around 1488, he played a significant role in the Protestant Reformation by making the scriptures accessible to English speakers. His most notable work, the Coverdale Bible, was published in 1535 and was the first complete English Bible printed.
Coverdale's translation was influential in shaping the English language and later served as a basis for other translations, including the King James Version. He was also involved with the Thomas Cranmer and the Book of Common Prayer, contributing to the development of Anglican liturgy.
