Milan I of Serbia
Milan I of Serbia was a Serbian king who reigned from 1882 to 1889. Born on August 22, 1854, he was the son of Prince Michael Obrenović III. Milan became king after Serbia was elevated to a kingdom, marking a significant moment in Serbian history. His reign was characterized by efforts to modernize the country and strengthen its military.
In 1889, Milan abdicated the throne in favor of his son, Alexander I of Serbia, due to political pressures and personal challenges. After his abdication, he lived in exile for many years before returning to Serbia, where he died on February 29, 1901.
