Mike Pompeo is an American politician and lawyer who served as the 70th United States Secretary of State from April 2018 to January 2021 under President Donald Trump. Before this role, he was the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from January 2017 to April 2018. Pompeo is a member of the Republican Party and represented Kansas in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2017. Born on December 30, 1963, in Orange, California, Pompeo graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and later earned a law degree from Harvard Law School.
