Midshipman
A Midshipman is a student in training to become an officer in the navy. They typically attend a military academy or a naval college, where they learn about naval operations, leadership, and maritime skills. Midshipmen often participate in both academic studies and practical training at sea.
In the United States Navy, midshipmen hold the rank of E-3 and are usually in their junior or senior year of college. They are expected to develop their leadership abilities and gain experience in various naval roles, preparing them for future responsibilities as commissioned officers.
