Midpoint (Average)
The midpoint, often referred to as the average, is a value that represents the center of a set of numbers. It is calculated by adding all the numbers together and then dividing the sum by the total count of those numbers. This gives a single value that summarizes the data set, making it easier to understand overall trends.
For example, if you have the numbers 2, 4, 6, and 8, you would add them to get 20 and then divide by 4, resulting in a midpoint of 5. This average helps in comparing different sets of data and understanding their general behavior.
