Midewiwin
Midewiwin is a traditional spiritual and healing practice of the Anishinaabe people, which includes various Indigenous groups in North America. It is often referred to as the "Grand Medicine Society" and focuses on the connection between the physical, spiritual, and natural worlds. The practice involves rituals, ceremonies, and the use of medicinal plants to promote health and well-being.
Central to Midewiwin is the belief in a universal spirit and the importance of maintaining harmony within oneself and the community. Members of the society, known as Midewiwin practitioners, undergo extensive training to learn about healing, spirituality, and the significance of dreams and visions in guiding their practices.
