Michigan State Legislature
The Michigan State Legislature is the legislative body of the state of Michigan. It consists of two chambers: the Michigan House of Representatives and the Michigan Senate. The House has 110 members, while the Senate has 38 members. Both chambers are responsible for creating and passing state laws, as well as approving the state budget.
Members of the legislature are elected by the citizens of Michigan. The legislature meets annually in Lansing, the state capital, to discuss and vote on various issues affecting the state. The legislative process includes drafting bills, committee reviews, and voting to ensure that laws reflect the needs of Michigan residents.
