Michel Seuphor
Michel Seuphor was a Belgian painter and art critic, born on January 24, 1901, in Antwerp. He is best known for his contributions to the abstract art movement and his involvement with the Cobra group, which emphasized spontaneity and creativity. Seuphor's work often featured vibrant colors and geometric shapes, reflecting his interest in the emotional power of abstraction.
In addition to his artistic endeavors, Seuphor was a prolific writer, authoring several books on modern art and artists. He played a significant role in promoting the works of his contemporaries, including Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky. Seuphor passed away on September 18, 1999, in Paris.
