Miami language
The term "Miami language" refers to the language historically spoken by the Miami people, a Native American tribe originally from the Great Lakes region. This language is part of the Algonquian language family and has several dialects. Although it is no longer widely spoken, efforts are being made to revitalize it through educational programs and community initiatives.
Today, the Miami language is primarily studied by linguists and cultural enthusiasts. The Miami Tribe of Oklahoma and the Miami Nation of Indiana are actively involved in preserving their linguistic heritage. These efforts include creating language resources, teaching materials, and cultural events to promote awareness and usage of the Miami language.
