Mexican Academy of Language
The Mexican Academy of Language (Academia Mexicana de la Lengua) is an institution dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Spanish language in Mexico. Founded in 1875, it serves as a national authority on linguistic matters, providing guidance on grammar, vocabulary, and usage.
The Academy is part of the larger Association of Spanish Language Academies, which includes similar institutions from various Spanish-speaking countries. Its members, known as academicians, work to create dictionaries, publish studies, and engage in cultural activities that enhance the understanding and appreciation of the Spanish language in the Mexican context.
