Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority
The Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) is a governmental agency in Illinois responsible for managing and promoting the McCormick Place, the largest convention center in North America. Established in 1989, its mission is to enhance the economic development of the Chicago area by attracting conventions, trade shows, and other events.
MPEA also oversees the Navy Pier, a popular tourist destination that features entertainment, dining, and cultural attractions. By coordinating these venues, the authority aims to boost tourism and create jobs, contributing to the overall growth of the local economy.
