Messier 98
Messier 98 is a spiral galaxy located in the constellation Coma Berenices. It is approximately 45 million light-years away from Earth and is part of the Virgo Cluster, which contains many other galaxies. Messier 98 has a diameter of about 100,000 light-years and is classified as an Sb type galaxy, indicating its spiral structure.
Discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1781, Messier 98 was later included in the Messier Catalog by Charles Messier. The galaxy is notable for its faintness, making it challenging to observe without a telescope. Its light is primarily emitted from young stars and regions of active star formation.
