Merinids
The Merinids were a Berber dynasty that ruled parts of Morocco from the 13th to the 15th centuries. They emerged after the decline of the Almohad dynasty and are known for their contributions to architecture, culture, and education. The Merinids established several cities, including Fes, which became a center of learning and trade.
During their reign, the Merinids faced challenges from rival dynasties and internal strife. They are recognized for their efforts to promote Islamic scholarship and the arts, leaving a lasting impact on Moroccan history. Their rule eventually weakened, leading to the rise of the Saadi dynasty.
