Mercy Ships
Mercy Ships is a non-profit organization that operates hospital ships to provide free medical care to people in developing countries. Founded in 1978, the organization aims to improve healthcare access and deliver surgical services, including life-changing procedures for conditions like cleft lips and cataracts.
The ships are staffed by volunteers, including medical professionals and support personnel, who work together to treat thousands of patients each year. In addition to surgeries, Mercy Ships also offers training and resources to local healthcare workers, helping to strengthen healthcare systems in the communities they serve.
