Members of the European Parliament
Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) are elected representatives who serve in the European Parliament, the legislative body of the European Union. Each member represents a specific region or country within the EU and participates in shaping laws, policies, and budgets that affect the lives of EU citizens. MEPs work in various committees to discuss and review proposed legislation.
Elections for MEPs occur every five years, allowing citizens of the EU to vote for their preferred candidates. The number of MEPs from each country is based on its population, ensuring fair representation. MEPs also engage with their constituents to address local and regional issues.
