Meghaduta
Meghaduta is a famous Sanskrit poem written by the ancient Indian poet Kalidasa. Composed in the 5th century CE, it tells the story of a cloud that is sent as a messenger by a lovesick yaksha, a nature spirit, to his distant wife. The poem beautifully describes the landscapes and emotions experienced during the journey of the cloud.
The work is divided into two parts: the first part focuses on the yaksha's longing and the cloud's journey, while the second part highlights the cloud's message to the yaksha's beloved. Meghaduta is celebrated for its rich imagery and lyrical quality, making it a significant piece in classical Indian literature.
