Megapixel
A megapixel is a unit of measurement used to describe the resolution of digital images. One megapixel equals one million pixels, which are the tiny dots that make up a digital image. Higher megapixel counts generally indicate better image quality, as more pixels can capture finer details.
In cameras, such as those found in smartphones or digital cameras, the megapixel rating is often highlighted as a key feature. For example, a 12-megapixel camera can produce images with a resolution of 4000 x 3000 pixels, allowing for larger prints and more detailed photos compared to lower megapixel cameras.
