Medium Wave
Medium Wave (MW) refers to a range of radio frequencies typically between 530 kHz and 1700 kHz. This band is commonly used for AM (Amplitude Modulation) radio broadcasting, allowing stations to transmit audio content over long distances. MW signals can travel far, especially at night, due to the reflection of radio waves off the ionosphere.
Medium Wave broadcasts are often used for news, talk shows, and music. The quality of sound is generally lower than FM (Frequency Modulation) radio, but MW remains popular in many regions. Notable examples of MW stations include BBC Radio, NPR, and various local radio stations.
