Mazhilis
The Mazhilis is the lower house of the Parliament of Kazakhstan. It plays a crucial role in the legislative process, where members propose, debate, and vote on laws. The Mazhilis consists of 107 deputies, with some elected through a proportional representation system and others through a majoritarian system.
Established in 1995, the Mazhilis works alongside the upper house, known as the Senate. The house is responsible for approving the national budget, ratifying international treaties, and overseeing the government's activities. Its functions are essential for maintaining a democratic framework within the country.
