The Mayflower was a ship that carried a group of English settlers, known as the Pilgrims, to America in 1620. These settlers were seeking religious freedom and a new life in the New World. After a long and difficult journey across the Atlantic Ocean, they landed at what is now Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Upon arrival, the Pilgrims faced many challenges, including harsh weather and food shortages. However, they established a settlement and formed a friendly relationship with the local Wampanoag tribe. This cooperation helped them survive their first winter, leading to the celebration of the first Thanksgiving in 1621.
