Maximinus of Trier
Maximinus of Trier was a Roman Emperor who ruled from 235 to 238 AD. He is known for his military background and his rise to power during a turbulent period in Roman history, often referred to as the Crisis of the Third Century. Maximinus was born in Thrace and became a prominent general before seizing the throne.
His reign was marked by conflicts with rival claimants and internal strife within the Roman Empire. Maximinus was eventually overthrown and killed by his own troops, leading to a brief period of instability before the emergence of new leaders, including Gordian III and Philip the Arab.
