Mavrovo Lake
Mavrovo Lake is a large artificial lake located in the Mavrovo National Park in North Macedonia. Created in the 1950s, it serves as a reservoir for hydroelectric power generation and irrigation. The lake is surrounded by picturesque mountains and forests, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and outdoor activities.
The lake has a surface area of approximately 33 square kilometers and reaches a maximum depth of about 30 meters. It is home to various fish species, including trout and carp, and offers opportunities for fishing, boating, and hiking in the nearby trails.
