Matryoshka Dolls
Matryoshka dolls, also known as Russian nesting dolls, are a set of wooden dolls of decreasing size placed one inside the other. They are typically painted in bright colors and feature traditional designs, often depicting folk characters or nature scenes. The outermost doll is usually the largest, and as you open each doll, you find a smaller one inside, continuing until the smallest doll is reached.
These dolls originated in Russia in the late 19th century and have since become a symbol of Russian culture. They are often handcrafted and can vary in design, size, and number of dolls in a set. Matryoshka dolls are popular souvenirs and collectibles around the world.
