Mary Fielding Smith
Mary Fielding Smith was an early pioneer and a prominent member of the Latter-day Saint movement. Born in 1801 in England, she immigrated to the United States in 1842, where she became known for her strong faith and resilience. She was the wife of Hiram Smith, a brother of Joseph Smith, the founder of the LDS Church.
After her husband's death, Mary played a crucial role in the migration of her family and other Mormon pioneers to the Salt Lake Valley. She was recognized for her leadership and contributions to the community, including her efforts in establishing homes and supporting fellow settlers.
