Martin Frobisher
Martin Frobisher was an English explorer born around 1535, known for his attempts to find a northwest passage to Asia. He made three voyages to the Arctic between 1576 and 1578, exploring parts of what is now Canada. His expeditions were significant in the early exploration of North America.
Frobisher is also remembered for his discovery of Frobisher Bay in Baffin Island, where he believed he found gold. However, the gold turned out to be worthless. Despite this, his voyages contributed to the knowledge of the Arctic region and laid the groundwork for future exploration.
